Sponsorship Kilkenny School of Irish Dance

Sponsorship

To fully attain our goals we are seeking potential sponsors for various dance needs and public events. To date, we receive no funding from the city council or any other cultural organisation.  Irish dancing at the highest level can be a very expensive business as dancers must travel overseas for top level competitions, not to mention the expense incurred with having state of the art costumes. Presently, new school costumes are being designed by a company in Belfast and our main goal for this coming year is that all dancers will be able to afford one and wear it with pride. www.elevationdesign.ie

In order to achieve this goal we need your financial assistance. In return, your contribution will be widely publicised in all our media distribution including newspapers, posters, fliers and our website. We have the potential to reach a wide local/international and culturally diverse audience….. and not only here in the Netherlands.

If you believe in what we do and would like to contribute towards the development of each individual dancer then do contact us by email.

Sponsoring the highly successful Kilkenny Irish Dance School.

Sponsorship

Founded in 2002, as a small hobby-like endeavour, the school has since developed far beyond its initial dreams and believes will soon reach a new platform.

Recently, our show group, Kilkennyontap, performed alongside recognised national celebrities such as Ali-B and Frans Bauer. In June, we performed to a sell-out audience with our own show, A Summer Recital of Irish Music Song and Dance in the Regentes Theater, Den Haag. This week four of our dancers shall perform at Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin during a private Gala Dinner with Christy O’Connor (Jnr) as after dinner speaker for 320 Dutch golfers. Our dancers compete at International competitions, including the World Championships, and we currently hold four European titles. Dancers are training tirelessly to up-hold these titles at the forthcoming European Championships to be held in Stuttgart, Germany.

Today, the school runs very much like a small business. Besides the expense incurred with class fees, travel, shoes and the like, and in order to stay on top,  our dancers must look good. This requires having a costume with the  “Wow factor” - one which immediately identifies our Show Group. To attain this present goal we are hoping to procure 25 costumes designed in Belfast by Elevation Design www.elevationdesign.ie. This highly reputable company designs costumes which meet the tastes and requirements of the 21st century. However, each costume comes at a price of  800 Euro. Every dancer desires such a costume and I seek Tourism Ireland’s assistance in this area. If successful in attaining your sponsorship, my aim would be to offer the children these costumes at a reduced rate.

Sponsors will expect a return on their potential sponsorship and we can be very concrete in what the Kilkenny School of Irish Dance can offer.

  • Free  and personalised performances by our show group Kilkennyontap for trade shows, consumer events and corporate events. (Annual number to be agreed).
  • Free advertisement on our Website (www.kilkennyontap.nl) with direct link to Ierland Toerisme, link exchange, Events banner, Monthly Newsletter and recognition on any TV & radio performances.
  • Early awareness of mutually beneficial press opportunities.
  • Direct connection to the local and expatriate community through your nieuwsbrief.  There are some 28 different nationalities in our dance school alone but the majority are Dutch.
  • Direct access to an audience with keen interest in Ireland and its broader Culture.
  • Our demographics include mostly young families and university students.

I would like to thank you for considering our proposal I would be only too willing to further discuss how we can both benefit if you were to sponsor the Kilkenny School of Irish Dance.

Sincere regards,

Sean Kilkenny. B.A., Higher Diploma in Ed, TCRG.
