REEL SHOES
For the very young boys who do not want or have outgrown pumps but are not ready for reel shoes with heels we have recently started supplying Jazz shoes (these are Capezio Reel shoes WITHOUT the heels) @ 25 euro. When they progress to a stage where they need heels we recommend the Pacelli Traditional Reel Shoe with Leinster heels @ 50 euro and eventually at Int/Open level they need the more flexible Capezio Reel shoe with Concorde heels @ 70 euro. Prices alter at sizes 1.5 and 6.
PUMPS
For the girls we recommend the Pacelli Gazelle Pump. These are a good quality shoe with padding which suit most feet @ 34 euro. If they prefer a black suede sole the Pacelli Eclipse is good @ 40 euro but this style does not suit narrow feet. Corrs Performance is better in this case @ 35 euro. At Int/Open level girls should try to invest in the Hullachan AP (best seller) @ 60 euro.
HEAVY SHOES
A good all round shoe is the Pacelli Ultra-flexi range available with a variety of Tips:-
- The Leinster Tip being perfectly adequate for Beginners & Primary dancers @ 80 euro.
- The Concorde Tip & Heel is harder wearing with good heavy sound @ 105 euro.
- The Liberty Tip with Concorde Heel is the absolute best with a very sharp sound @ 122 euro. Top dancers prefer these despite the extra cost. The Ultra-flexi is suitable for Boys and Girls.
- The Pacelli Superflexi (with white leather sole) @ 65 euro is available from child's size UK9 whereas the Pacelli u/flexi range is only available from child's size UK12 upwards.
- Some dancers prefer the fit of the Fays Jig shoe which does suit the narrower foot @ 105 euro.
As for other brands, Rutherfords @ 140 euro are an expensive shoe with a similar fit to Pacelli, whilst Corrs @ 120 are a lesser known brand with higher front and split-sole, a good option for advanced dancers. Corrs Eco-flexi is available from child's size UK11 @ 65 euro.
